Chardonnay does not like extreme heat and definitely benefits from the cooler temperatures of the Hemel en Aarde valley. Yields were significantly down in 2018 but this resulted in a very expressive wine. Slightly richer in color and texture than the unoaked chardonnay, this wine offers a depth and richness on the palate which is superbly balanced by the minerality of the fruit and 100% natural acidity. Delightful pale-straw color with a hint of lime-citrus, butter-scotch mid-palate gives way to a fresh, flinty and bone-dry finish. Clean and refreshing.

Our 8th vintage gave us wines of greater balance, the dry and hot vintage meant smaller berries that in turn led to more concentrated aromas and flavors. The vintage is marked by aromas of darker fruit such as, black currents and plums yet also red fruit such as strawberries and redcurrants with hints of dried herbs tickling the nose

Beautiful, floral notes of Elderflower on the nose and palate, accompanied by a broad, mid-palate that saunters off in to a fresh, clean and vibrant finish. Slight hints of asparagus and mown grass. An elegant wine with good structure and a lean, crisp, mouth-watering departure. More of a European, cooler-climate style Sauvignon Blanc.

This Syrah offers a deep, scarlet-plum color with real depth and clarity. Slight hints of black-current and cedar-wood are noticed on the nose, which follows through to the palate of violets and white pepper. The tannins are firm but balanced by the body of the wine. A structured and chewy wine with length that will only improve over the next 5 years or more!

Pomegranate-pink color, with a hint of Turkish-delight on the nose. Water melon and raspberry fruit flavors initially set the tone, backed up with a medium-bodied, textured mid-palate. This eventually gives way to a dry-as-a-bone, long, lingering finish with an uplifting freshness at the end.

True to our style the Unoaked Chardonnay remains a light wine with clean lines and pure fruit flavours with a typical Overberg minerality. As an un-oaked Chardonnay this is quite an aromatic wine, showing floral notes of Frangipani, sweet alyssum and even orange blossoms and surprisingly a hint of orange sponge cake. A dynamic palette with a grippy barley apple acidity and wet pebble minerality.
